Sea World meets the St Louis Zoo

The St Louis Zoo opened a new exhibit a few weeks ago, so Ryan, Carl, Kathleen, Lily, William, Emilia and I all went to check it out. Unfortunately it was a really hot day, but we survived by only checking out animals that live in the water (or in air conditioning!)

Ryan and William checking out the sting rays.

Lily and Kathleen getting the feel of horseshoe crabs.

Ryan chilaxing by the carousel.

In front of the new sea lion home. Notice the space between all of us - it was that hot.

Even Emmy needed some water.

Entranced by the underwater scene.

It's a good color for us.

The new underwater tunnel was particularly cool!

Then Ryan and I stuck around and checked out the new sea lion show. They have a water slide for them and everything!

One talented sea lion!

The high dive!

Taking in a little nature

I joined Kathleen and the kids at the Nature Center a few weeks ago. I haven't worked any Fridays this summer - it just happened that way. I always have every other Friday off during the summers, but this year we've been traveling quite a bit and  the trips seem to keep falling on the Fridays that I'm not already off for.  I'm not complaining though! I love my Friday fun days!

The deer head was a big hit.

Lily spotted this little guy and pointed it out to William saying, "And there's Alvin!"

William taking in one ugly fish. (I think the fish is checking him out too.)

The beloved puppet show!

Mom's on the floor - it's an open invitation for William!
